The Hallway

You are currently in the “hallway” of my home. The transition area of my storytelling that leads to the different aspects of my life. The hallway represents:

💜The Hallways represent:

  •   Transition and Journey: Hallways connect different spaces, symbolizing the transitions we undergo in life and the paths we choose.

  •   Continuity: They can represent the flow of life, connecting various experiences and stages.

Before I became a teacher I was kind of “lost.” I just knew that I didn’t want to be like everyone else in the family— a nurse. When I landed my first teaching job I fell in love with it immediately. I absolutely loved being a preschool teacher! It was the reason why I went to college to further pursue that as my profession. I swore up and down that I would retire as a teacher. I learned the hard way of how “nothing lasts forever.” And unfortunately, along the way my ideas of teaching was shattered by my experiences over the years. I’ve had to learn to pivot from one thing to another throughout my life. And how depending on one resource was not conducive to the ever evolving time we are living in. Transitioning seemed hard and scary until I took that leap of faith.

If I never was a teacher I honestly don’t know where I would be. I also I don’t know if this brand would even exist. Because of teaching I was able to dive deep into my imagination and creativity. I started writing poetry, I began drawing, I started using my own fine motor skills to manipulate objects and things in order to create something new. All while teaching the children how to master their own fine motor skills. Eventually I had to leave teaching but before I left I immersed myself into making music as a much needed creative release. In the between time of going back to teaching and leaving again, I continued writing poetry and creating music. I eventually worked up the courage to release my music. After letting my older cousin hear a few tracks. He was the one that encouraged me to keep going, and that’s exactly what I did.

Making choices can be difficult, but sometimes decisions are even harder to make. In the famous words of Tupac Shakur he says…

Go listen to my podcast episode that talks about a tough decision I had to make early in my career as a preschool teacher. Or you can tell me your story about dealing with change and transitions in your life. Don’t go shallow on me. I want the raw and really hard choices you had to choose from.

🛋️My story doesn’t end here. Take a tour and see if you’d like to stick around for a while. I suggest you should start in the living/ family room area of my story.

⛲️Or you can go to the menu of my site and choose the room you’d like to start with first.
